About the Author

Rufina Garay is an emerging food memoirist of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese descent. She is also a rehabilitated corporate biotech attorney who is a chef instructor at a local culinary institute in a Wisconsin lakeshore community. Rufina loves to teach and spend time with her family cooking and baking, though her Saucy Guy partner is truly the baker of the household.

She teaches Advanced Garde Manger class (a class where one learns to produce fancy foods that make you fat in the French tradition--sausage, pâté, hors d'oeuvres, banquet foods) and Nutrition class (my small attempt at balance for health). In her upcoming memoir, Recipes for a Saucy Life, she hopes to share her passion for food, community, and family with the world
